Combined ADHD and autism assessment — one integrated pathway
ADHD and autism frequently co-occur, and their features can overlap in ways that make each harder to identify on its own. This extended assessment examines both conditions together, producing a single integrated diagnostic picture.
A pre-assessment screening is required first. Before booking, you complete a set of screening questionnaires (£185) which our psychologist reviews. There is no appointment — you receive the outcome by email. If a full assessment is advised, the £185 is deducted from the assessment fee. If it is not advised, you receive a professional letter explaining why. The screening fee is non-refundable. Read more and book screening.
What the assessment covers
Included in your assessment
Full Written Report
A detailed diagnostic report setting out the assessment findings, clinical formulation, diagnostic conclusions and tailored recommendations.
Feedback Session
A dedicated session to talk through the results, what they mean in practice and what support may help.
Scoring & Interpretation
All test scoring, normative comparison and clinical interpretation are included in the fee — no additional charges.
Recommendations
Practical recommendations for home, education or the workplace, written so they can be shared with those who need them.
Why assess both together: Assessing both conditions in one pathway avoids the cost and delay of two separate assessments, and — importantly — allows the psychologist to weigh overlapping features against each other rather than in isolation. This produces a more accurate diagnostic conclusion than sequential assessments often achieve.
Held in person. Because this assessment includes the ADOS-2, it is conducted face to face across Nottingham city and Nottinghamshire. We believe in-person assessment is the right way to assess for autism: it allows direct observation of social communication, gesture, eye contact and sensory responses in a shared setting, which a video call cannot reliably show. This service is open to anyone residing in the area, or willing to travel to us to attend the appointment.
We are not an emergency service. If you have acute concerns, become unwell, or your symptoms worsen, please call NHS 111 or 999 as clinically indicated. We cannot monitor your health between appointments and cannot respond to urgent matters. If you are in mental health crisis or having thoughts of harming yourself, call 999, go to your nearest A&E, or contact the Samaritans free on 116 123.
