Therapy that's tailored to you, from your very first session
Every person is different — so the approach we take in therapy should be too. Dr Amy Needham draws on a range of evidence-based modalities, choosing the right approach for you collaboratively, after we've met.
How it works
A clear, collaborative process — built around your needs, not a fixed protocol.
Introductory First Session
A £60 assessment session where you share what's bringing you to therapy. Your psychologist listens, asks questions, and starts to build a clinical picture.
Mutual Decision
At the end of the first session, you and your psychologist decide together whether to continue. The therapeutic fit matters — both ways.
Tailored Plan
If you continue, your psychologist proposes the right therapeutic model based on your needs — drawing from CBT, trauma-focused CBT, integrative or person-centred approaches.
Ongoing Therapy
Regular weekly sessions tailored to your goals — with regular reviews to make sure your therapy continues to work for you.
Modalities we draw on
Dr Needham is trained in multiple evidence-based modalities. Rather than fitting you into a single approach, we choose what's clinically right for you.
The right modality depends on your presenting issue, your history, your goals and your preferences. That decision is best made after we've met — not before.
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) — structured, evidence-based for anxiety, depression, OCD and more
- Integrative Therapy — drawing on multiple modalities as needed
- Person-Centred Counselling — supportive, non-directive space
- Psychodynamic Approaches — exploring patterns and underlying themes
- Trauma-Focused CBT — evidence-based approach for PTSD and complex trauma

What you might be wondering
Why don't I pick a modality first?
Choosing the right therapeutic approach is itself a clinical decision. It's far better made by an experienced clinician who's met you and understood your situation than by you choosing in advance.
What if it isn't a good fit?
That's exactly what the introductory first session is for. If either you or your psychologist feel a different therapist would be a better match, we'll help you find one.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on the approach and your needs. CBT is typically 8–20 sessions; integrative or counselling work can be open-ended. Your therapist will discuss this with you.
How much does it cost?
Your first session is £60 — an introductory assessment session. Subsequent session pricing depends on the length of the session and the therapeutic modality used, which will be discussed and agreed with your psychologist.
